About The Role

Position Summary: The Camera Operator and Trainer will help Athey Creek’s staff and volunteer Production Team provide high-quality broadcast video for church services, live, and published events. This individual will ensure that all video scheduling, priming, publishing, and in-person operations are being performed with excellence.

Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in Scripture
  • Be highly motivated, energetic, and possess strong work ethic/initiative skills
  • Physical strength and the stamina to carry heavy equipment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship and team-building skills
  • Proven experience as a camera operator
  • Experience operating and maintaining relevant professional production equipment: Resi Encoders, RED Digital Cinema, Blackmagic ATEM Switcher, Elgato Stream Deck & Bitfocus Companion, DEFY Rhythm systems, video publishing/hosting software (Craft CMS, Subsplash, YouTube, Vimeo)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, perform UAS Remote Pilot operations
  • Serve as Broadcast Director and Technical Director for live services
  • Edit and publish video recordings to various video hosting platforms
  • Resolve technical or practical issues
  • Volunteer team engagement as trainer and point of contact
  • Schedule online live and replay streams
  • Provide practical and creative input to camera shot planning
  • Select, assemble, and position equipment (cameras, rigging, mounts, software, etc.)
  • Prepare cameras and test calibrations, angles, and camera movements per video production objectives
  • Perform regular maintenance and suggest system or process improvements
  • Ensure the highest quality camera (fixed, robotic, handheld) is used to provide the best framing, angles, or handheld movement
  • Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours: Hourly Part Time, Tuesday through Sunday, including weekends and some evenings.
