Credit Investigation Supervisor
Job Summary
The Credit Investigation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Credit Investigation team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant credit investigations. This role supervises investigators, monitors work quality and productivity, provides coaching and guidance, reviews investigation reports, and ensures that credit recommendations support sound lending decisions while minimizing credit risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the Credit Investigation team.
- Assign and monitor credit investigation cases to ensure timely completion and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Review and validate credit investigation reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure thorough verification of applicants' personal, employment, business, financial, and collateral information.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of credit investigations and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve performance and technical competencies.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide regular feedback, and identify training needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards.
- Prepare operational reports, productivity dashboards, and quality metrics for management.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, risk management, and customer service.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and ensuring adherence to established controls.
- Assist management in developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in credit investigation, credit analysis, banking, or financial services, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of credit investigation methodologies, lending practices, and credit risk assessment.
- Experience reviewing consumer, commercial, or SME loan applications is an advantage.
- Familiarity with credit bureau systems, loan origination platforms, and fraud detection processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
