About The Role

  1. Portfolio & Investment Strategy
  • Support identification of investment opportunities across genres, languages, and formats through structured market sizing and opportunity analysis.
  • Track portfolio-level performance, competitive moves, and consumer trends; translate into concise insights and implication notes for leadership.
  • Assist in building strategy inputs for annual/quarterly content planning — market sizing, trend scans, and opportunity sizing across the slate.
  • Maintain dashboards and trackers highlighting portfolio risks and opportunities for leadership reviews.

Expectation: Support strategic investment priorities across the content portfolio.

  1. Slate & Release Strategy
  • Build and maintain the programming calendar for the assigned slate, sequencing premieres, drops, and library content to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Design release strategies — premiere windows, drop cadences (weekly vs. binge), and platform placement — based on audience behaviour, competitive moves, and demand signals.
  • Recommend scheduling trade-offs when titles compete for the same window, balancing portfolio-level goals against individual title performance potential.

Expectation: Own the release calendar and scheduling logic for your slate.

  1. Whitespace & Business Case Development
  • Identify whitespace opportunities using research, benchmarking, and data analysis — market mapping, competitor comparisons, and audience behaviour signals.
  • Build business cases for new content bets: problem statement, solution options, costs, benefits, risks, and assumptions.
  • Coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams (Content, Finance, Consumer Insights) and consolidate into a single recommendation.

Expectation: Identify and build the case for unlocking new content opportunities.

  1. Performance Analytics
  • Track title- and slate-level performance (viewership, completion, retention, discovery) against expectations and benchmarks.
  • Conduct post-mortem analyses on launched titles and content bets, translating findings into recommendations for future commissioning and acquisition decisions.
  • Develop audience segment insights to identify underserved cohorts and inform future investment.

Expectation: Convert performance data into clear, decision-ready recommendations.

  1. Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Act as the single point of contact between Content and Product, Ad Sales, On Platform Marketing, and Subscriptions — ensuring content strategy is aligned with, and informed by, these functions.
  • Work closely with these functions to drive shared reach, revenue, and engagement objectives, translating content plans into inputs they can act on and vice versa.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and decision logs to drive execution velocity on strategic initiatives.

Expectation: Bring together diverse inputs into cohesive strategic recommendations.

Success Metrics

  • Quality, accuracy, and timeliness of analysis, trackers, and business case materials.
  • Measurable progress on assigned initiatives (milestones achieved, blockers resolved, governance maintained).
  • Stakeholder satisfaction: clarity of outputs, responsiveness, and ability to simplify complexity.
  • Contribution to identification or validation of growth opportunities/initiatives per quarter.
