We’re looking for a Field Service Specialist to join us in Istanbul or Ankara, Türkiye, with frequent travel to customer sites.

ZEISS Research Microscopy Solutions (RMS) provides advanced microscopy solutions for life sciences, materials research, semiconductor, and academic institutions. Our portfolio includes light, confocal, electron, and X-ray microscopy systems, supporting scientific discovery and technological innovation across research and industry.

Your Role

As a Field Service Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical service and support for advanced ZEISS microscopy systems at customer sites. You will work closely with customers, internal teams and global technical experts to ensure equipment performance, customer satisfaction and long-term system reliability.

The role of Field Service Specialist will involve

  • Installing, commissioning, maintaining, calibrating, upgrading and troubleshooting advanced microscopy systems, including SEM, FE-SEM, FIB-SEM and related equipment.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance, acceptance testing, performance verification and system upgrades in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnosing complex technical issues across mechanical, electronic, electrical, computer and software systems, using a structured root cause analysis approach.
  • Providing on-site and remote technical support, identifying customer needs and developing effective, long-term solutions.
  • Working closely with Sales, Applications, Customer Support, Product Management and Global Technical Support teams to resolve technical issues and manage escalations.
  • Providing technical guidance and basic user training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance and best practices.
  • Identifying spare part requirements, supporting service planning and ensuring preventive maintenance activities are completed effectively.
  • Preparing accurate service reports and maintaining complete records of technical activities within CRM, service reporting and ticketing systems.
  • Building strong, long-term customer relationships and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Following all relevant health and safety requirements, including those related to high-voltage systems, vacuum technology, radiation/X-ray safety and laboratory environments.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Physics, Physics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a technical service, field service or similar engineering role, preferably within an international organisation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, technical drawings, service documentation and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyse mechanical, electronic, computer and software-related issues.
  • Comfortable working with measurement instruments, diagnostic equipment and technical testing tools.
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international technical teams.
  • Valid driving licence and active driving experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites.
  • For male candidates, completion of military service or no military obligation is required.

It would be desirable if you had

  • Experience with electron microscopy, vacuum technology, high-voltage electronics, precision mechanics or scientific instrumentation.
  • Previous experience working with SEM, FE-SEM, FIB-SEM or similar high-technology equipment.
  • Experience with CRM systems, remote support tools, service reporting systems or ticketing platforms.
  • Previous experience working with medical devices, analytical instruments, laboratory equipment or other complex technical systems.
