Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

- If so, Student Health and Wellness with Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Communications Specialist II!
What You'll Do
- Create and manage photo and video content for marketing, communications, and digital platforms.
- Plan, produce, and edit multimedia projects from concept through final delivery.
- Provide media coverage of events, programs, and campus activities.
- Develop, schedule, and manage content across social media platforms.
- Maintain content calendars and support strategic marketing campaigns.
- Monitor audience engagement and foster online community growth.
- Analyze performance metrics and recommend communication improvements.
- Design and produce digital and print marketing materials.
- Review and edit communications content for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Build, update, and maintain department websites and web content.
- Ensure communications and websites meet accessibility and branding standards.
- Collaborate with campus partners to support marketing, outreach, and communication initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and related editing and graphic design software.
- Experience with website design and maintenance using Drupal.
- Experience managing and planning content for social media accounts.
- Experience with marketing analytics.
- Familiarity with health and wellness concepts and experience supporting related programs, services, or communications.
About Student Health and Wellness
Part of the Division of Student Affairs, the Student Health and Wellness unit consists of four departments: Recreation Services, Student Counseling Services, Student Wellness, and the Thielen Student Health Center. Through promotion of holistic wellbeing, these departments collaborate to support individual student success, enhance retention, academic performance, and campus community resilience.
