About The Role

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a BESS Technician based in our Operations Team in our Widnes depot . As a BESS Technician, you are responsible for ensuring all fleet is made ready for hire, through turnarounds, repairs and maintenance. This includes any upgrades, retrofits and modifications to support customer requirements.

What you’ll do as a BESS Technician

  • Upon the return of any fleet asset, carry out a post-contract assessment to determine the level of work required and ensure the asset is assigned the correct status
  • Inspect, diagnose, and resolve faults, carrying out modifications or customisations to equipment in line with customer specifications where required
  • Perform maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company procedures and, where necessary, in consultation with approved suppliers
  • Provide technical and operational support to the wider business, with a particular focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), both remotely and on-site when required
  • Ensure all service appointments, records, and documentation are maintained accurately and up to date, including the completion of Field Service Logs (FSL) and ATA reports for each asset

You are

  • Experience working with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including fleet maintenance, fault finding, and electrical repairs
  • A recognised technical qualification, such as City & Guilds, ONC Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability and enthusiasm to learn about a broad range of products, technologies, and applications
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting safe working practices at all times
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, alongside a flexible approach and willingness to travel when required
