About The Role

CROWN Packaging Manufacturing Italy S.r.l. is seeking a skilled Cans Mechanical Technician to maintain and repair high-speed can manufacturing machinery, ensuring optimal production efficiency and product quality.

Job Responsibilities:**

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of mechanical equipment used in can manufacturing, including presses, bodymakers, trimmers, flangers, and seaming machines.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime and production losses.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to understand equipment operation and repair procedures.
  • Execute adjustments and calibrations to machinery to maintain specified operating parameters and product quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and other technicians to identify and address recurring mechanical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery as required.

Job Qualifications:**

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment, such as can making, metal forming, or packaging.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Formal technical education or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field is highly desirable.
