Job Description
Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director and the supervision of an RN, the Surgical Technologist is responsible and accountable for working intra-operatively in cardiothoracic surgery for the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for the patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. The Surgical Technologist demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in scrubbing a variety of open heart, chest and vascular (inclusive of peripheral vascular) procedures. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad professional knowledge.
Experience
A minimum of two years scrub experience as a Surgical Technologist in cardiothoracic surgery.
Education
Graduate of a surgical technologist training program strongly preferred. Will consider extensive hospital surgical technologist experience in lieu of graduate of training program.
Licensure/Certifications
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS is required. Surgical Technologist certification is strongly preferred.

Assigned Work Hours
Full Time
8-hr shifts: varied between 6AM-2:30PM or 6:30am-3:30PM.

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience)
- $45.05 to
- $60.27
- The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
- Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.78
- Hourly Night Shift Differential: $4.17
