About The Role
The ACT instructor will provide meaningful enrichment learning activities designed to help high school students reach their full potential on the ACT exam. Some instructional materials and curriculum are provided.
General duties include
- Familiarizing students with the ACT format
- Teaching ACT test-taking strategies
- Reviewing ACT section content: Math, Science, English & Reading
- Proctoring, analyzing, and adjusting instruction to ACT practice tests
- Helping students build confidence in their knowledge & abilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and maintain current lesson plans and curriculum
- Assess needs and evaluate progress
- Provide classroom instruction and tutorial services
- Maintain required documentation
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required or significant experience providing ACT instruction.
Certification/License: N/A
- Experience: Classroom or related experience working with low-income, first-generation high school students will enhance employment possibility.
- Skills: Knowledge of effective teaching/learning processes

In conjunction with its emergency and disaster management program, Northwest organizes and hosts Missouri Hope , an annual mass casualty training exercise that attracts first responders and emergency workers from throughout the nation and provides hands-on training in preparation for a natural disaster.
