About The Role
Job Overview
Job Summary**
The Civil Foreman will oversee and coordinate daily field operations for civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards in Sherman, Texas. This role involves direct supervision of crew members, managing resources, and maintaining project schedules.
Job Responsibilities**
- Supervise and direct daily activities of a civil construction crew, including grading, excavation, utility installation, and concrete work.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Implement and enforce all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures on-site.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Conduct daily safety meetings (toolbox talks) and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate and maintain various heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage and track material and equipment inventory on-site.
- Complete daily reports, progress logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Train and mentor crew members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Job Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or relevant certifications a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and survey stakes.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
