Manufacturing Services Technician: Electrical / Mechanical (Maintenance)

As a Maintenance Technician (Electrical and Controls) / Mechanical, in Rolls- Royce Singapore, you will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform corrective maintenance of production equipment during production and scheduled preventive maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Competent to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams and perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, adjust and execute high level complex troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties and detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas and support the Manufacturing Services Leader in all equipment maintenance activities for the facility.

Essential Qualifications

  • Possess at least an engineering NITEC cert or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering with an equivalent number of years of education.
  • In-depth understanding of machine tools is essential and experience in the machine maintenance is a must
  • Good understanding of industry regulations and best practices of asset management and production maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Maximo system.
  • Preferable to have equipment maintenance and manufacturing experience.
  • Having leadership and knowledge/exposure with continuous improvement methodologies such as six sigma/ LEAN would be a bonus.
  • Licensed Electrical workers (LEW) will be highly considered
  • Ability to work on a 3 rotating shift pattern.

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma activities.
  • Maintain professionalism, teamwork, discipline, and a positive learning attitude in daily operations.
  • Support Roll-Royce values of Zero Harm, Zero Defects, and Zero Losses through quality workmanship and responsible behaviours.

  • CNC Machines
  • Vacuum Furnaces and Hot Forming Rigs
  • Chemical Lines
  • Blasting, Peening, Spraying and Polishing Machines
  • Robotics
  • Inspection Machines (X-Ray, Geometrical, CMM)
