The Consultant Cardiac Surgeon will be responsible for providing expert cardiac surgical care to patients in a private healthcare setting. This role involves performing advanced cardiac surgeries, delivering personalized patient care, and contributing to the overall growth and excellence of the cardiac surgery department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patients with cardiac conditions requiring surgical intervention.
• Perform complex cardiac surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs/replacements, and minimally invasive surgeries.
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care to ensure optimal recovery and outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, anesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to the standards and protocols of the private healthcare sector.
• Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Medical degree with board certification in cardiac surgery or a related specialty.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cardiac surgery, preferably within the private healthcare sector.
• Proficiency in both traditional and minimally invasive cardiac surgical techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of clinical excellence, ethics, and patient safety.
• Experience in mentoring and teaching junior staff is an advantage.
