Senior ML/AI Engineer
Clera · Remote, United States
About The Role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a fast-growing, AI-native consumer intelligence startup (Series A/B stage) building the next generation of autonomous enterprise analytics. The platform doesn't just surface insights — it reasons, forecasts, and acts autonomously across complex enterprise data landscapes, serving some of the world's largest retailers and consumer brands.
As a Senior ML/AI Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and real-world enterprise deployment, designing intelligent systems that drive measurable business impact at scale. This is applied AI at its most impactful.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, build, and deploy ML models for demand forecasting, time series prediction, consumer sentiment analysis, and anomaly detection at enterprise scale
- Develop and iterate on the platform's agentic AI architecture — building systems that reason across heterogeneous data sources and take autonomous action
- Build and maintain robust ML pipelines: data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and production deployment
- Architect RAG systems and LLM integrations that power natural language interfaces and autonomous workflows
- Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure models are production-grade — optimized for latency, reliability, and scale
- Own model performance end-to-end: monitoring, retraining, and continuous improvement in production
- Stay at the frontier of AI research and bring relevant innovations into the platform
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required (Dealbreakers)
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on, ML-focused experience (not purely software engineering with minimal ML exposure)
- 3+ years working in ML systems architecture, building and delivering production ML pipelines
- Deep proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent
- No visa sponsorship available — candidates must be independently authorized to work
Also Required
- Production experience building agentic systems and harnesses
- Hands-on experience with graph databases
- Strong SQL proficiency for data querying and manipulation
Nice to Have
- Experience working at scale — large tech companies or high-growth startups with production ML systems (backgrounds from firms such as Meltwater, NielsenIQ, Qualtrics, Medallia, Kantar, or similar enterprise analytics/intelligence companies are a strong signal)
- Experience with the Go programming language
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: $170,000 – $230,000 USD annually, depending on experience
- Early-stage equity in a high-growth, AI-native company
