About The Role
Role Purpose
The An Post Employee Relations team supports managers and employees across An Post on a wide range of employee relations matters and policy initiatives.
As Employee Relations Executive, you will support the Employee Relations team in progressing employee relations casework, industrial relations, investigations, grievance and disciplinary matters, together with a range of policy and governance projects.
In addition, the role will also support the review and development of policies, including work relating to Human Rights and sustainability reporting requirements.
This is a 14 month temporary contract position.
The principal responsibilities associated with the role include, but are not limited to the following
- Assist in managing and progressing ER disciplinary casework
- Participate in ER investigations
- Support HRBPs on grievance and disciplinary matters
- Support the Head of Employee Relations and Employee Relations Manager on IR matters
- Support the review and update of the Human Rights Policy in line with IHREC, EU Taxonomy, CSRD and OECD requirements, including due diligence requirements
- Review and update ER/HR policies to ensure they meet current standards
- Identify gaps in procedures required to support policy changes
- Develop a plan to address gaps and track progress
- Carry out such other duties as required by the ER Manager or Head of Employee Relations appropriate to the role.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion at all times.
- Maintain a professional, fair and neutral approach in all interactions.
- Adhere to Company policies, procedures and values in carrying out the role
- Advocate and actively demonstrate An Post’s core values and behaviours
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HR practices, procedures and Employee Relations principles, together with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical, fair and consistent manner. You will ideally hold a Degree in Human Resources (or a relevant discipline) and/or have CIPD membership. Knowledge of industrial relations would be advantageous.
You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high quality work to agreed deadlines. A high level of professional integrity, discretion and sound judgement is essential, together with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Previous experience within a HR or Employee Relations environment is desirable, and experience supporting investigations, disciplinary matters, grievance processes or policy development would be an advantage.
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of preparing clear, accurate and professional correspondence, reports and policy documentation. The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with HR colleagues, and other stakeholders is also important.
A knowledge of Human Rights and sustainability-related reporting requirements, including IHREC, EU Taxonomy, CSRD and OECD frameworks, is desirable. You should be comfortable researching, interpreting and applying information from a range of sources to support policy review and development activities.
Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook, is essential for this role.
** A full driving licence and access to a car for business purposes is a requirement as the role will involve some travel.

Salary
Salary range starting from €65,476. Placement within the advertised salary range will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and alignment with the role requirements.
