The Campus Ambassadors are a position of leadership at UW-Parkside and serve an essential role in the recruitment of prospective UW-Parkside students. A Campus Ambassador is a role model, peer mentor and represents the best UW-Parkside has to offer. Campus Ambassadors are responsible for representing UW-Parkside- benefits, opportunities and services when welcoming new students/ visitors on campus. A Campus Ambassador will warmly welcome all students and their families while working to establish a quality first impression. Campus Ambassadors will represent themselves and the institution in a professional and appropriate manner while displaying pride and passion for UW-Parkside.
Responsibilities
Admissions Events, Visits, and Tours
- Participate in admissions recruitment events such as, daily campus tours, Ranger Saturday, Experience Parkside Day, Admitted Students Day and other events as needed.
- Conduct campus-wide tours for visitors and group visits in a professional manner
- Greet, assist, and create connections with incoming students and visitors throughout the application and enrollment process
- Provide information to prospective students, current students, and visitors related to admissions process, deadlines, orientation, registration, campus events, etc.
- Assist students during the admissions and enrollment process and provide appropriate referrals
In the Office
- Provide a great customer service experience to current and prospective students, families, and staff by answering phones, responding to emails, and communicating face-to-face
- Use PeopleSoft, Slate and ImageNow to enter student data, launch communications, and update records and maintain confidentiality of all information
- Prepare materials for events and visits
- Assist students with scheduling meetings with counselors
- Prepare and send out mailings
- Attend all meetings, trainings, and events as designated
Mandatory Time Commitments
- Attend all required training (typically 5 days the last week of summer and 3 days in spring)
- Attend monthly staff meetings
