Summary

The AML & Fraud Analyst – Mid-Level will play an important role in OKTO’s Compliance and Financial Crime Prevention function, supporting the identification, investigation, and mitigation of money laundering and fraud risks across our fintech environment.

This position is a mid-level professional with hands-on experience in AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, or fraud prevention , who is looking to take greater ownership of investigations and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial crime controls.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Monitoring & Financial Crime Analysis

  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts, identifying potentially suspicious or fraudulent activity.
  • Analyze transaction patterns, customer behavior, and other relevant data to identify financial crime risks.
  • Assess cases and determine appropriate actions, escalating higher-risk situations when required.
  • Identify emerging AML and fraud trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring scenarios and controls.

Investigations & Due Diligence

  • Conduct investigations involving customers, partners, merchants, and other relevant parties.
  • Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews when required.
  • Research and analyze information from internal and external sources to support investigations and case decisions.
  • Document investigation findings, rationale, and recommended actions in accordance with internal procedures.

Reporting, Controls & Compliance

  • Prepare internal reports and regulatory communications related to AML and financial crime prevention activities.
  • Support AML/CFT control testing and the continuous monitoring of compliance processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Ensure activities are performed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Fraud Prevention, Operations, and other relevant teams to ensure effective management of financial crime risks.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of AML/CFT and fraud prevention procedures, controls, and workflows.
  • Share insights and recommendations based on investigation findings and observed risk patterns.
  • Support the implementation of initiatives aimed at strengthening OKTO’s financial crime prevention framework.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, Economics or related fields.

Experience

  • Up to 4 years experience in AML/CFT, fraud prevention, compliance, or financial operations.
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to AML/CFT is an advantage.

Languages

  • Portuguese (mandatory).
  • Advanced English (mandatory).
  • Advanced Spanish (desirable).
