About The Role
Job Description
Saint Luke’s Crittenton Children’s Center in South Kansas City, MO is seeking a Community Education Consultant to join their Community Programs & Prevention Trauma Smart team.
Trauma Smart is an innovative, evidence-based model of trauma-informed practice, utilized by family caregivers, educational environments, community agencies and workplaces to create safe, healthy environments for all individuals to learn, grow, and succeed.
- 40 hours, typically 8-5pm M-F, with 1-2 possible evening trainings as needed by contracted clients. Hybrid of remote work from office, home, and partnering site locations. The ability to travel m onthly will occur with each of the assigned partnering sites to complete scheduled training and/or consultations. These partnering sites could be local, non-local (2-6 hours outside of KC), and/or out of state, requiring flights. There may be 3-5 traveling days per month if the partnering site is a non-local or out of state location.
- Knowledge of current trauma-informed resear ch and application within: education and family settings for ages 0-18, human service organizations, and workplaces.
- Training in utilized trauma informed models will be provided.
- Actively participate in continued learning related to trauma informed care , education , human service organizations , facilitation skills, & consultation skills.
- Understanding of the Trauma Smart ® Approach to service delivery.
- Facilitate the Trauma Smart trauma- informed services, training, and consultation content with organization's staff to fulfill client contracts.
- Awareness of all Trauma Smart services, content and resources, along with the ability to utilize in the support of client service delivery.
- Facilitate the Trauma Smart Academy trainings.
- Facilitate the collection of program metrics to support partnering organizations in creating and monitoring SMARTIE goals .
- Attend and participate in monthly department team meetings.
Job Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
- Knowledge of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), early childhood, education, Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC), Spanish or other languages is a plus.
- Must have a clean driving record and applicable vehicle insurance
