Medical Lab Scientist I

Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza is looking for a Medical Lab Scientist for our Microbiology department. You will have the opportunity to perform an extremely broad range of tests.

Shift Details : Full Time Day shift, four 10-hour days per week, and 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rotating weekends (work every 3rd weekend)

Responsibilities

• Perform s accurate and reliable analyses requiring a complex network of steps and variables
• Recogniz es technical, instrument or physiological problems, identifying causes and evaluating alternative solutions
• Confirm s and verifying laboratory results utilizing in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments
• Correlat es and interpreting data based on knowledge of physiological conditions affecting test results
• Establish es and monito rs quality assurance programs
• Participat es in performance improvement programs
• Must have ASCP accreditation or pass ASCP registry within 9 months of hire
• Medical Lab Scientist experience in Microbiology preferred
• Bachelor's degree in related Science field required
