About The Role

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Job Summary

Coordinates the day-to-day activities and management of patient and outpatient access services, such as pre-registration, registration, admissions, payment collection, and other functions. Assumes responsibility for communication systems within departments. Provides guidance to staff within the latitude of established work area and policies. Works on assignments that are considerably difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Works with sensitive and confidential information, often involving the interpretation of policies and procedures to guide use. This position is represented by SEIU.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Five years' relevant experience: Preferred

Essential Functions

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to medical staff and patients, paying close attention to HIPAA compliance and information related to employees and other information as appropriate.
  • Provide feedback to peers when errors or omissions are found on accounts so deficiencies can be remedied while patient still present. Review AETS reports and correct errors. Works with Quality/Education group as needed to trend/track accuracy and training needs
  • Interact in a positive way with all departments to resolve issues and to develop and maintain positive intra-departmental and inter-departmental working relationships.
  • Follow all organizational and department-defined policies and procedures
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
