About The Role

MCB Capital Markets Ltd (“MCBCM”) is the investment banking, proprietary investment and investment management arm of MCB Group Limited, the largest banking group in Mauritius. MCBCM, provides a range of financial services, including corporate finance advisory, fund management, asset management, investment dealer, private equity, structured products and registrar services. MCBCM is growing rapidly locally and in the region and is looking to add to its ‘Registrar and Transfer Agent’ team.

Job vacancy: Corporate Registry Support

By joining the team as ‘Corporate Registry Support’, you will, amongst other tasks, assist in a timely and efficient manner:

(i) the maintenance and update of clients’ registers; and

(ii) the execution of corporate actions.

The successful candidate will get exposure to a very dynamic and challenging work environment and to a broad range of activities linked to securities trading/ investment on the domestic market.

In this role you will,

  • Attend promptly to Issuers' and Investors' requests and enquiries though different communication channels;
  • Extract and consolidate data to produce standard operational and regulatory reports across multiple reporting cycles, including daily, monthly, and annual deliverables;
  • Update and maintain registers of investors (CIS, equity and debt) within assigned deadlines whilst respecting data integrity;
  • Processing of undelivered cheques/certificates as per agreed SLAs;
  • Process corporate actions and entitlements including the printing and mailing of advices;
  • Handle mailing of annual reports, process proxies and conduct the registration of investors for meetings;
  • Archiving and filing documents on a regular basis;
  • Handling of a full-time enquiry desk for clients and investors;
  • Preparation of audit confirmation reports;
  • Monitoring and maintenance of all operation stock levels

We are looking for candidates who have a

EITHER

  • Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent, preferably with subjects related to accounting, economics, business studies, finance, or mathematics; and
  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience in financial operations, securities market operations, registry/transfer agency, banking operations, fund administration, or a similar back-office environment.

OR

  • A diploma in Finance, Financial Services, Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; and
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in financial operations, securities market operations, registry/transfer agency, banking operations, fund administration, or a similar back-office environment.

AND

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools;
  • Good understanding of operational procedures, controls, deadlines, and confidentiality;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English; French may also be useful depending on client/investor interaction.

A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
