About The Role
- Position: Fleet Safety Coordinator – Camera Support
- Pay Rate: $22 per hour
- Schedule: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm
Job Description
Under the direction of the Safety Department Manager, the Fleet Safety Coordinator is responsible for FAF LLC, and TQI LLC. on board recording devices coaching and oversight in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policy. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Coach drivers on their patterns and behaviors found through the event recorder.
- Schedule installations, removals and repair to equipment as needed.
- Monitor and Review video events as determined by set parameters.
- Track installation of SmartDrive camera systems in fleet.
- Document coaching and issued remediation in the Safety Management System.
- Provide remediation in accordance with company policy.
- When requested, collect videos and documentation for our legal & claims departments.
- Prepare driver compliance review reports for review by the Safety Review Committee.
- Communicate DOT Regulations and Interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- As needed - Keep, Maintain and Control the Camera and ELD Inventory.
- Assist drivers with day-to-day event recorder issues/questions.
- As directed by Safety Manager complete recording device audits.
- As required, places vehicles/drivers out-of-service for camera event related issues.
- Assist with Safety Department incoming phone calls and inquiries
- Performing Yard Checks by walking our truck parking lot .
- Stocking supplies in our driver’s lounge.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Computer skills: Excel, Word, Internet, AS400 and web-based systems.
- Have a basic understanding of how a camera event recorder functions.
- Requires strong interpersonal communications, compliance, and implementation skills.
- Excellent writing & proof-reading skills as well as superior verbal & organizational skills
Skills
- Knowledge of standard DOT Compliance concepts, practices, & procedures. Ability to handle a heavy workload
- Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion and meet various and required deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and managers
- Work in a “Confidential Capacity”
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Goal-oriented and highly self-directed, demonstrating strong time management and project prioritization skills to consistently achieve objectives.
