About The Role

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Construction Manager in leading and managing the “Delivery” phase for construction projects, ensuring construction schedules are achieved, contractors are managed effectively, and safety & quality requirements are met.
  • Support the project team in executing all activities necessary to construct project assets, taking direct responsibility for smaller projects and supporting the Construction Manager on larger projects.
  • Ensure all required construction documentation (method statements, Inspection & Test Plans, material data sheets, quantity trackers, etc.) is produced and utilized for construction activities.
  • Monitor and ensure that all construction activities are executed in accordance with the project schedule and quality requirements.
  • Collect project data and conduct periodic internal progress meetings to identify issues and take action to resolve them.
  • Conduct periodic progress review meetings with contractors to resolve issues and ensure project requirements are being achieved.
  • Determine whether specific assets are nearing construction completion in accordance with the asset handover plan and contract requirements.
  • Lead construction punch list walkdowns, ensuring appropriate classification of punch list items (Category “A”, “B”, and “C”) and that contractors carry out work required to close Category “A” items.
  • Provide applicable notifications to relevant departments for assets that are completed to enable handover or taking over.
  • At month end, assess and analyze quantity progress data against the project plan.
  • Participate in asset handover and project closeout meetings, ensuring timely completion of punch list items and proper archiving of construction and HSE files.
  • Manage the demobilization of contractors and ensure that any temporary facilities and working areas are restored to their original condition, including obtaining end user acceptance of area restoration.
  • Inspect completed portions of the work to verify construction completion prior to transfer of responsibilities to the Handover & Inspection requirements.
  • Making sure that every construction activity is inspected with approved shop drawing, Method Statement & Risk Assessments (MSRA), Quality Control Procedure (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
  • Verifying with Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL) all relevant test results related to specific IRF that meets the project requirements.
  • Closely monitoring site activities to ensure quality of work is following contract requirements, good construction practices, approved materials, compliance with shop drawings, and reporting to Construction Manager if any variations.
  • Making sure that any non-conformity has been reported through a Non-Conformance Report (NCR), All NCRs are coordinated with the Quality Assurance Manager and the Project Engineer.
  • Prepare weekly project quality reports. And conducting weekly quality walk down with contractor ‘s QC team and construction engineers. Maintain records of inspections made, tests performed, work executed, etc.
  • Preparing progress reports, maintaining accurate records, and communicating updates to stakeholders, including project managers and clients
  • Observe site safety practices and the progress of the work. Report any concern to the head of the Department.

Educational and Technical Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical / electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus

Language Skills

  • Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage

Years of Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision on infrastructure projects; marine projects experience is an added advantage

Nature of Experience

  • Strong knowledge of construction supervision, site coordination, quality control, HSE compliance, progress reporting, documentation, and contractor management.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify and address complex challenges and opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
