Position Summary
The Manager, Generation Strategy & Support provides strategic leadership and direction for the integration, performance readiness, and lifecycle support of Georgia Power's generation assets. This role leads cross-functional initiatives to establish operational expectations, maintenance strategies, governance processes, and performance frameworks that support safe, reliable, and cost-effective generation across company-owned and jointly owned facilities.
The position serves as a key business partner to Operations, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and co-owners, delivering analytical insights, strategic decision support, and Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) oversight to optimize asset performance and maximize contractual value.
Key Responsibilities
Generation Asset Integration & Lifecycle Strategy (50%)
- Lead the integration of new and emerging generation assets into the operating fleet.
- Establish operational readiness plans, maintenance strategies, spare parts philosophies, and governance frameworks.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment among Operations, Engineering, Finance, OEMs, and other stakeholders.
- Develop decision-making processes that support long-term asset reliability, performance, and cost optimization.
Maintenance Strategy & Execution Planning (20%)
- Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Create multi-year maintenance roadmaps aligned with operational goals.
- Ensure maintenance plans are integrated into outage schedules, resource planning, and budget development.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution efforts and stakeholder communications.
Co-owner Support & Stakeholder Management (10%)
- Lead communications and collaboration with co-owners and external partners.
- Support governance meetings, working groups, and strategic planning sessions.
- Track action items, decisions, and operational commitments.
- Prepare executive-level presentations and reports addressing performance, risks, and opportunities.
Governance & Continuous Improvement (10%)
- Establish and maintain governance processes for maintenance strategy and operational change management.
- Develop standardized reporting methodologies and management procedures.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Drive accountability and organizational alignment through structured governance.
LTSA & Contract Management (10%)
- Oversee Long-Term Service Agreements and other strategic service contracts.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor OEM performance and contract deliverables.
- Align service agreements with operational objectives, outage plans, and financial commitments.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
- Equivalent experience in an asset-intensive industrial environment may be considered.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience supporting electric generation or other asset-intensive industrial operations.
- 5+ years of leadership, strategic influence, or enterprise-facing experience.
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Asset management
- Operations
- Maintenance planning
- Engineering
- Program or project management
- Performance improvement
- Strategic planning
- Experience working with OEMs, vendors, co-owners, or strategic service providers.
- Experience supporting the development, administration, or governance of long-term contracts and service agreements.
