About The Role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Building Consultant team in Mexico. This is an opportunity for an analytical, organized, and detail-oriented professional with experience in damage assessment, estimates, budgeting, and construction cost analysis. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of unit pricing and experience using Neo Data software, as well as the ability to work in the field and prepare clear technical reports.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Inspect and assess damage to buildings, structures, finishes, installations, and other elements related to civil works.
  • Conduct site surveys, gather technical evidence, and document findings to support analyses and reports.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and bills of quantities to determine solutions, quantities, and comparable costs.
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, and unit price analyses, including research on material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Prepare written reports with technical conclusions, photographic support, and cost analyses related to damages or repairs.

Required Qualifications 

  • Three to five years of experience in civil works, budgeting, estimates, supervision, quantity takeoffs, or cost analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of unit pricing, budget development, and bills of quantities.
  • Experience using Neo Data software for budgeting, unit pricing, and cost analysis.
  • Background in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience; a professional degree is not required.
  • Analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • A desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the profession.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  Physical and Mental Job Qualifications 

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site.
  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
  • Able to climb ladders to reach high areas or roofs.
  • Must be able to write reports of findings after inspections 50% of day-to-day duties.
  • May be exposed to UV radiation from the sun, radon, or other forms of air pollution.
  • Must be able to be on call or work weekends or nights.
  • Willingness to travel – locally, regionally, and for CAT response when needed.
