- Approx 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, 4 days per week
- Saturday morning (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM) rotation required
- On Call rotation required (maximum 30 minute response time)
Job Title: Radiological Technologist and Ultrasound Technician
Department : Radiology Services
Reports To : Director of Radiology Services
Position Summary : Performs multiple imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, DEXA, and C-arm fluoroscopy, in addition to ultrasound/sonography examinations (prior ultrasound education or certification preferred).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
General imaging
- Practice Radiation Safety and ALARA
- Adjusts imaging equipment settings; determines proper voltage and exposure; positions patients properly.
- Understands and performs Quality Control / Quality Assurance
- Review exams and report results to ordering providers
- Must be registered with ARRT and State of Nebraska Licensed and successfully completed an accredited educational program related to CT or provide/perform documented training of CT proficiency.
X-Ray Examinations
- Performing diagnostic exam that utilize ionizing radiation
CT Scans
- Performs examinations using Computerized Tomography and utilizing contrast media that perform cross-sectional anatomy that produces an image and numerical value to tissue density.
Ultrasound Examinations (preferred)
- Perform US procedures on adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiological disorders
- Perform procedures relating to Abdomen, Limited 1st trimester OB and GYN, Breast, Small Parts, and MSK
- Successful completion of an accredited educational program related to Ultrasound and be ARDMS registered or provide/perform documented training of competency of Ultrasound exams
Bone Density Scans (DEXA)
- Measure bone mineral density at a specific at a specific anatomical site and calculate total body bone mineral content
C-Arm and Surgical Procedures
- Operate C-arm during orthopedic cases, pain management procedures, or general surgical procedures as needed
Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- Licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Medical Radiographer
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification
- ARDMS registered (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilitie s
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, healthcare providers, and patients
- Must be capable of communicating clearly (reading, writing and speaking) in the English Language
- Must be comfortable and proficient operating and documenting within an EMR, extracting chart exam information, submitting charges, and utilizing communication systems
- Must be capable of reading and comprehending complex healthcare laws and regulations
Other Requirements: Must take On Call rotation at minimum one weekday and weekend rotations (every 5-6 weekends). Also must have the ability to report on site within 30 minutes for Call Backs, preferably sooner.
