About The Role
As a Senior Dredge Electrician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing the electrical systems and equipment on board our Self-Propelled Cutter Suction Dredger. Your expertise will ensure the dredger's electrical infrastructure is in optimal condition, enabling efficient and safe operations. You will work closely with the dredging team, providing electrical support and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during dredging operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems and equipment on the dredger.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Install and commission new electrical systems and equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to electrical work.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior electricians and other crew members.
- Collaborate with the dredging team to optimize electrical systems for efficient dredging operations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in dredging electrical technology and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure the dredger's electrical systems meet industry standards.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician, with a focus on marine or dredging electrical systems.
- A recognized electrical engineering degree or diploma, or equivalent industry certifications.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with marine electrical equipment and dredging operations is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the crew.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging marine environment.
- Valid certifications in marine electrical safety practices and procedures.
- Willingness to undergo additional training and development opportunities.
