Consultant / Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon | UAE

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Consultant / Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and the surgical management of cardiovascular and thoracic conditions . The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary cardiac team and provide high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive surgical consultations and pre-operative assessments.
• Diagnose and manage patients requiring cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical intervention.
• Perform cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical procedures within the approved clinical scope and privileges.
• Evaluate patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic conditions, and other surgical cardiac disorders.
• Perform and manage coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and other appropriate cardiac surgical procedures based on expertise.
• Perform or participate in valve repair and valve replacement procedures.
• Assess and manage patients requiring surgery for thoracic and mediastinal conditions.
• Review and interpret relevant ECGs, echocardiography, CT scans, MRI, angiography, laboratory investigations, and other diagnostic studies.
• Develop individualized surgical treatment plans based on clinical findings and multidisciplinary assessment.
• Work closely with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, radiologists, perfusionists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary cardiac team discussions and surgical planning.
• Provide pre-operative counseling regarding treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
• Provide post-operative management, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Monitor patients for post-operative complications and coordinate appropriate intervention.
• Manage emergency cardiac and thoracic surgical cases within the physician's scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient records.
• Ensure compliance with infection-control, patient-safety, surgical, and clinical governance standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement programs, teaching, and continuing professional development.
• Follow applicable UAE healthcare regulations, professional standards, and hospital policies.

Requirements

• MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, or Cardiac Surgery .
• Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in cardiac and/or cardiothoracic surgery.
• Strong surgical judgment and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent knowledge of modern cardiac and thoracic surgical techniques.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary cardiac team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and ethical clinical practice.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
