Hiring General Practitioner (GP) Oman

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused General Practitioner (GP) to join a healthcare facility in Oman. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience and demonstrate strong capabilities in diagnosing and managing a broad range of medical conditions across outpatient and primary care settings.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based medical care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive consultations, clinical assessments and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings and established medical guidelines.
- Provide preventive healthcare, health education and patient counselling.
- Manage common emergency and urgent medical presentations within the scope of GP practice.
- Request and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
- Prescribe medications safely and monitor treatment response.
- Refer patients to specialists when clinically indicated.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety and clinical governance standards.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.
- Ensure compliance with the healthcare facility's policies and applicable Oman Ministry of Health requirements.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
- Completed internship.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post-internship clinical experience.
- Experience in General Practice / Primary Care is preferred.
- Experience in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine or ICU may be considered where relevant to the role.
- Valid medical registration/licence in the country of current or most recent practice.
- Candidates must be eligible for registration/licensing to practise in Oman.
- Oman DataFlow verification and professional assessment/licensing requirements must be fulfilled as applicable.
- Good clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
