The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Engineering Discipline is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, test and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our campus in either Tewksbury or Andover, MA

What You Will Do

  • Core Systems Engineering: Update, develop, maintain, and improve requirements, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.

Testing Efforts: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing

  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Drive Performance: Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
  • Integrate Systems: Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
  • Decision analysis & Resolution: Conduct trade studies and present results to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and work with disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
  • Document and Communicate: Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Present Findings: Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
  • Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience or coursework in System Design
  • Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with model-based engineering and associated tools
  • Experience in developing and managing requirements.
  • Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
