Associate Engineer

Responsibilities • Conceive and implement technology solutions that meet business needs and align with the IT strategy • Collaborate with colleagues, analysts, developers, project and program managers, and other stakeholders within an Agile methodology • Assess and quantify risks associated with design decisions • Provide visibility of architecture and design components to appropriate technical governance bodies • Translate business requirements into viable and feasible solutions architectures within budget and timeline • Identify and advocate for the best solutions for stakeholders • Evaluate and recommend external products and services as part of solution delivery • Translate application requirements into component and interface specifications • Ensuring deliverables align with the agreed architecture and quality standards • Deliver prototypes associated with design proposals Skills • Proven experience delivering complex, high-performing, redundant, and quality software systems • Strong technical background with a track record of driving architectural vision and strategy • Experience in Agile and XP practices • Proficiency in steering projects through the application lifecycle • Collaboration with business stakeholders, including Product Owners and Business Analysts • Understanding of non-functional requirements, quality assurance, and continuous improvement methods • 5+ years of experience in an architectural function and at least ten years of development experience • Hands-on development skills with a deep understanding of APIs, security, scaling, and other associated nuances • Strong architectural documentation skills, including visual aids • Experience with build versus buy analysis and vendor product selection • Knowledge of modern architecture components/designs, such as AngularJS, Microservices, NoSQL, Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) • Strong messaging experience • Familiarity with the payments industry • Excellent communication, influencing, and detail-oriented capabilities. • Passion for architecture and ability to drive change and manage results.
