Products are sold direct in 18 countries worldwide and through distributors in over 60 others and are supported by field sales, field service, clinical education and marketing organizations. General Summary; This role serves as a strategic HR business partner, change champion, and member of the Japan leadership team, supporting the execution of the business strategy and growth objectives in Japan. The position also partners with the Global HR team to implement enterprise-wide HR policies, programs, and initiatives while ensuring alignment with local business needs. Primary Responsibilities: · Serves as an HR operational business partner to shape and implement all HR aspects to support Japan business strategy in alignment with Corporate/Regional Human Resources policies, practices, and programs. · Partners with business heads to attract (recruit) key talent; refine and align recruitment process and program; act as an ambassador for talent acquisition internally and externally. · Implements corporate-aligned goals setting, performance management, and compensation programs including job levelling, position benchmarking, base salary, benefits etc., in conjunction with Global Compensation and Benefits. · Manages talent reviews and implement succession planning, talent (management) development plans; helps GM and Japan Management Team assess talent gaps/needs and its talent. · Leads and coordinates employee resolutions with appropriate leadership and appraises GM, North Asia and Sr. Director Human Resources, Asia Pacific of potential high-profile or employee-related litigation issues. · Manages Japan payroll with external payroll vendor on a monthly basis; ensures accuracy and work to de-complicate the process to ensure automation. · Handles administrative procedures regarding benefit programs, medical and social insurance, work-related injuries, attendance/leave, and personal information to ensure compliance and laws were met accordingly. · Maintains updated and timely Japan employee data in corporate HR system (HCM). · Maintains updated HR analytics and interpretation, e.g.: turnover, vacancy factor, HC, exit interview data, cycle time to hire. · Ensures HR compliance and corporate governance; and informs GM, North Asia and Sr. Director Human Resources, Asia Pacific on key issues in a timely manner. · Is a coach (provided effective guidance) to Japan management team. · Keeps an effective ear to the ground; hands-on to hear the voice of the employees. · Participates and contributes in Regional/Global HR initiatives/projects Knowledge/Educational Requirements: · BS or BA, management, psychology, sociology, or related disciplines · 7 years’ work experience in Human Resources with 3-5 years in a HR business partner role · Prior work experience in Medical Device / Pharmaceutical industry, preferred · Hands-on, roll up the sleeves business partner who understands how to get things done. · Self-starter and details oriented · Demonstrated thought-partner / advisor to GM North Asia and Japan management team · Strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, negotiation /influencing and collaboration skills · Fluent in Japanese. Conversant in the English language (both verbal and written) · Proficient in usage mobile devices and strong computer program skills: Microsoft windows (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
