These products begin as concepts developed by Candela’s world-class team of scientists and engineers or as acquired or licensed technologies that Candela then completes the development and/or commercialization of. These programs are supported by Candela’s global clinical, regulatory, and quality teams and are managed through our Product Development Process (PDP) and Quality Management System (QMS). The Company’s headquarters are in Marlborough, Massachusetts, US, with and additional R&D facility in Yokneam, Israel and commercial locations across Asia Pacific, and Europe. Products are sold direct in 18 countries worldwide and through distributors in over 60 others and are supported by field service, clinical education, marketing development organizations and distributorship arrangements. General Summary: The Director, Supply Chain, APAC, is responsible for overseeing and managing the regional Global Operations function covering S&OP, warehouse operations, inventory management, demand forecasting and order management to support APAC business growth and maximize customer experience. The candidate will work closely with both Global Operations and Subsidiaries’ Operations to ensure alignment of global processes, consistent implementation/tracking of KPIs, accurate demand forecasting on device/parts/consumables, and timely delivery to customers. This position is a member of the global operations management team with a span of control, directly manage a team, of three (3) to four (4) employees. Essential Job Functions: Warehouse Operations · Develop Japan warehousing and transportation strategy to drive timely and effective delivery of finished goods to customers · Lead the execution of warehousing and transportation strategy at subsidiary level · Own space and volume forecasting for APAC 3PL’s, including creation of models for forecasting based on S&OP demand and safety stock · Set and align appropriate KPIs to measure effectiveness, and lead regular reviews to drive continuous improvement and customer experience · Full accountability of APAC locally owned warehouses, and lead/oversee 3PL warehouses from set up to full running and ongoing operation · Reviewing cost and developing action plans to reduce costs within the warehouse through storage / pick & pack processes · Establish and lead the Quarterly Business Review with key warehousing and freight partners · Drive local statutory compliance and regular audit Customs Processes & Reporting · Single POC for APAC product customs issues and resolutions · Tariff strategic planning and risk mitigation as required · Customs broker interface as required Inventory Management · Review, align and own inventory targets ($’s and DOH) in conjunction with Global Planning and Inventory Team · Provide input to the organization on inventory strategies of existing items, new products, and product phase-outs, and own the development and implementation of these strategies · Lead and drive inventory audit process · Work closely with Finance to ensure inventory is properly valuated in accounting records Demand Forecasting/S&OP · Drive accurate demand forecasting process with subsidiaries on products, spare parts and consumables · Monitor customer backlog and forecast consumption at each subsidiary, alerting Global Planning and Inventory team when over or under consumption occurs · Participate in regular calls with global teams on supply review and to determine if improvement can be made to support demand supply disparities · Leverage Global KPIs to measure and drive accuracy and effectiveness · Communicate product lead times based on regional supply-demand analyses and/or allocation provided by Global Planning · Communicate regional product availability to regional Order Management and Commercial team · Participate and create analyses for meetings with Commercial organization Team Leadership and Culture: · Build and manage a high-performing team · Conduct performance management, hiring and development of talent, administration of compensation in accordance with human resources, and the organization’s workplace practices · Promote a culture of discipline, accountability, and excellence inside direct functions and across the organization through working relationships with operating peers to ensure objectives are met or exceeded · Work with SVP Global Operations to develop the Supply Chain function and provide ongoing coaching/training to develop the subsidiary Supply Chain Team · Drive statutory compliance Knowledge/Educational Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related disciplines required · 8-12 years Supply Chain experience preferably from multinational company with 3-5 years as Head of Supply Chain leading the APAC-wide Supply Chain function · Solid experience in warehousing operations in APAC countries · Demonstrated leadership (accountable for leading a regional or global) team · Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity · Knowledge of safety, quality and cost objectives · Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines · Strong leadership and coaching skills · Result oriented with strong problem solving, organization and planning skills · Excellent communications skills in English and Japanese, both verbal and written · Strong team player working collaboratively across functions · Solid knowledge of data analysis, and performance metrics using business management software, such as, Salesforce, Oracle, ServiceMax, Power BI This job description is not all inclusive and is intended to capture a majority of the job functions.
