Consultant / Specialist - Surgical Oncologist in a Leading Healthcare Facility

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant / Specialist Surgical Oncologist to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical management for patients with solid tumors and complex oncological conditions, working closely with multidisciplinary cancer-care teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and surgically manage patients with malignant and complex oncological conditions.
  • Perform elective and complex cancer surgeries based on area of expertise.
  • Develop individualized surgical treatment plans in collaboration with medical and radiation oncologists.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide comprehensive post-operative care.
  • Manage surgical complications and provide appropriate follow-up.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and cancer-care planning.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other specialists.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding surgical options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation.
  • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, research, teaching, and continuing professional development.

Requirements

  • MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in General Surgery and/or Surgical Oncology .
  • Relevant post-specialty experience in Surgical Oncology.
  • Strong experience in oncological surgical procedures and multidisciplinary cancer management.
  • Subspecialty expertise in areas such as breast, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, colorectal, endocrine, or other oncological surgery is an advantage.
  • Valid professional registration/license in the country of practice.
  • Excellent surgical skills, clinical judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Consultant candidates: Appropriate senior-level qualifications and substantial post-specialty experience.
  • Candidates with UK CCT/UK specialist qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or South African Board are highly encouraged to apply.
