Consultant / Specialist - Visceral Surgery

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Consultant / Specialist Visceral Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex gastrointestinal, abdominal, hepatobiliary, and related visceral conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring visceral and gastrointestinal surgical intervention.
- Perform elective and emergency abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures.
- Manage conditions involving the stomach, small and large bowel, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and other abdominal organs.
- Perform minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures where appropriately trained.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
- Provide comprehensive post-operative care and manage surgical complications.
- Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex case discussions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.
Requirements
- MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Visceral Surgery, General Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, or an equivalent relevant specialty .
- Relevant post-specialty experience in visceral/gastrointestinal surgery.
- Strong experience in complex abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures.
- Laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgery experience is preferred.
- Valid professional registration/license in the country of practice.
- Excellent clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Consultant candidates: Appropriate senior-level qualifications and substantial post-specialty experience.
- Candidates with UK CCT/UK specialist qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or South African Board are highly encouraged to apply.
