About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant / Specialist Visceral Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with complex gastrointestinal, abdominal, hepatobiliary, and related visceral conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring visceral and gastrointestinal surgical intervention.
  • Perform elective and emergency abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures.
  • Manage conditions involving the stomach, small and large bowel, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and other abdominal organs.
  • Perform minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures where appropriately trained.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
  • Provide comprehensive post-operative care and manage surgical complications.
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and other specialists.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex case discussions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation.
  • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development.

Requirements

  • MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Visceral Surgery, General Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, or an equivalent relevant specialty .
  • Relevant post-specialty experience in visceral/gastrointestinal surgery.
  • Strong experience in complex abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures.
  • Laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgery experience is preferred.
  • Valid professional registration/license in the country of practice.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, surgical skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
  • Consultant candidates: Appropriate senior-level qualifications and substantial post-specialty experience.
  • Candidates with UK CCT/UK specialist qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or South African Board are highly encouraged to apply.
