As a Snow Blower Supervisor , you'll oversee daily snow removal operations, support your operators in the field, ensure routes are completed according to contract specifications, and maintain communication with management throughout every winter event.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead Snow Blower Tractor Operators during snow and ice events.
  • Coordinate daily routes and ensure assigned commercial properties are serviced safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Operate a snow blower tractor as needed to assist the team and maintain productivity.
  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust routes based on snowfall and changing priorities.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and customer contract specifications.
  • Respond to snow dispatches within 30 minutes of being contacted, use dispatch app to notify crews, and follow up with team members who do not respond.
  • Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and equipment inspections.
  • Ensure tractors, snow blowers, and attachments are fueled, maintained, and ready for operation before and after every storm.
  • Continuously train, mentor, and coach new operators while promoting safe operating procedures.
  • Maintain communication with the Snow Blower Manager regarding route progress, staffing, equipment issues, and customer concerns.
  • Verify accurate service documentation using smartphones and route management software.
  • Report accidents, equipment failures, property damage, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid New York State Driver's License
  • Previous experience operating tractors or heavy equipment required
  • Experience operating manual transmission/clutch-powered equipment preferred
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to look over shoulder, twist, and turn body/neck repeatedly for long hours
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in snow, ice, and low-visibility conditions
  • Ability to work extended hours during snow events
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Willingness to be on call to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation to report for work
  • Must own and be able to use a smartphone for service documentation
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
