### Pediatric Ophthalmologist

A growing **Pediatric Ophthalmology program** in **Eastern North Carolina** is seeking a **mission-driven, visionary Pediatric Ophthalmologist** to join and help advance a developing academic division. As one of the only pediatric ophthalmologists serving a region of approximately **1.5 million people**, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful community impact while contributing to program growth and academic development.

The medical center serves as a **tertiary referral center**, managing a high volume of complex ophthalmic conditions. The ophthalmology service continues to expand across subspecialties and has received **ACGME approval to launch a new Ophthalmology residency**, with the inaugural class beginning in **summer 2026**. ## Requirements
### Education & Training

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree

### Certification & Licensure

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical license
• Eligible for hospital privileges
