Responsibilities
Manage multiple projects concurrently at various stages of development, ensuring they meet strategic goals and project objectives.
Develop an understanding of the universal remote control, hospitality, security, and home automation markets to effectively support customer and project requirements.
Develop and maintain project schedules, dependencies, budgets, resource allocation plans, risk and mitigation plans for each assigned project in Project Portfolio Management software (KeyedIn).
Lead cross-functional teams to drive decisions, resolve issues, and maintain alignment among engineering, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customers.
Monitor and document each assigned project’s progress and track key performance indicators (KPIs) in KeyedIn.
Prepare and present executive-level project status, key risks, mitigation plans, and recovery plans to leadership and customers.
Motivate project teams to meet or exceed project objectives.
Drive project execution through proactive management of schedules, critical paths, risks, dependencies, and action items.
Manage the development of turnkey products from concept through mass production based on customer requirements.
Manage alternate part qualifications, factory transfers, engineering change requests.
Collaborate effectively with global teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, with flexibility to support meetings across multiple time zones.
Work with Project Managers in Asia, Mexico to coordinate manufacturing deliverables.
Work with functional managers to ensure resource allocation to provide timely delivery of multiple concurrent development projects.
Manage, maintain and service key OEM accounts and relationships.
Process and Development
- Identify and implement project and systematic improvements for increased execution efficiency.
- Align processes with the right software systems and confirm that processes are secured into systems, workflows, etc.
Qualifications / skills
- 10+ years of overall industry experience with minimum 5+ years of Project Management Experience.
- Experience managing electronics or embedded hardware products.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Experience working with OEM/ODM or manufacturing environments.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Experience leading global cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Successful execution of at least three projects in the past is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience managing projects with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies is required.
Education, Licenses & Certification
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s (4-Year) degree in Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering is required.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) or PgMP certification from PMI is highly desirable, not required.
