This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior GoLang Developer based in United States.
This is a senior backend engineering opportunity focused on building scalable, resilient, and high-performance software <systems.You> will design and develop core services using Go while helping shape architecture and long-term technical direction.The role combines hands-on engineering with systems-level problem solving across distributed systems, APIs, data, and cloud <infrastructure.You> will work closely with product, DevOps, frontend, and engineering leadership to deliver reliable end-to-end <solutions.You> will also contribute to engineering standards around testing, observability, CI/CD, performance, and cloud-native <deployment.As> a senior technical contributor, you will mentor other engineers, guide architectural decisions, and help resolve complex production challenges.This is a fully remote, full-time position designed for an experienced engineer who enjoys ownership, technical depth, and meaningful influence.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and core platform components using Go.
- Architect and implement scalable distributed systems and microservices with a strong focus on reliability, resilience, scalability, and observability.
- Optimize APIs, data pipelines, and service-to-service communication to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Apply engineering best practices across code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, and cloud-native development.
- Design and guide technical solutions involving system architecture, data modeling, infrastructure, and service integration.
- Build and maintain APIs and communication patterns using REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and/or event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate with product managers, DevOps engineers, frontend developers, and engineering leaders to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
- Lead technical discussions and make informed architectural decisions that support both current product needs and long-term engineering strategy.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues, including performance bottlenecks, service failures, and distributed-system reliability challenges.
- Contribute to technical roadmaps and help define long-term platform and engineering priorities.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, architectural discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Help establish and continuously improve development practices around observability, reliability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of backend software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on professional Go development.
- Strong command of Go, including concurrency patterns, goroutines, channels, memory management, and idiomatic coding practices.
- Demonstrated experience designing and building distributed systems and microservices at scale.
- Strong knowledge of API and service communication technologies such as REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and event-driven architectures.
- Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment environments.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching technologies, and message-queue systems.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and production observability solutions.
- Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry is highly valuable.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, reliable, and idiomatic Go code.
- Excellent systems-thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills and confidence leading technical discussions with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with high-throughput and low-latency systems is preferred.
- Background in DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices is a plus.
- Experience with Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or comparable messaging technologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and/or clean architecture is beneficial.
- Contributions to open-source Go projects are a plus.
- Must be based in the United States and authorized to work as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident without requiring visa sponsorship.
