Senior .NET Legacy Modernisation

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior .NET Legacy Modernisation based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale enterprise application modernisation programme in a complex legacy <environment.You> will design, enhance, maintain, and modernise business-critical applications across established and modern .NET technologies.The position combines hands-on development with application analysis, systems integration, troubleshooting, and technical <decision-making.You> will work extensively with C#, .NET Framework, WinForms, WebForms, REST APIs, SOAP, and XML.The role is particularly suited to an engineer who enjoys understanding complex codebases and progressively evolving them into maintainable <solutions.You> will collaborate with developers, consultants, and technical specialists within an Agile, international engineering <environment.It> is an opportunity to take ownership of challenging technical work while contributing to a broader digital transformation programme.

Accountabilities

• Enterprise Application Development: Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade .NET applications supporting critical business operations.
• Legacy Modernisation: Work across legacy and hybrid application environments, helping evolve established systems into maintainable and sustainable .NET solutions.
• .NET Development: Build and maintain applications using C#, .NET Framework, WinForms, and WebForms, working effectively across both established and modern codebases.
• Systems Integration: Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, SOAP web services, and XML, ensuring reliable communication between enterprise applications and services.
• Legacy Analysis: Analyze existing applications, dependencies, integrations, and business logic to understand how systems operate and identify opportunities for modernization.
• Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across both legacy and modernized applications, minimizing disruption to business-critical services.
• Mixed Technology Environments: Work confidently within codebases containing combinations of C#, <VB.NET>, and other legacy technologies.
• Technical Collaboration: Partner with consultants, developers, and other technical specialists to deliver solutions within the wider modernization programme.
• Engineering Standards: Contribute to technical decisions, development standards, coding practices, and maintainable engineering approaches.
• Agile Delivery: Participate actively in an Agile, cross-functional team, taking ownership of technical tasks and contributing to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Senior .NET Experience: Strong commercial experience as a Senior .NET Developer working with enterprise-grade or business-critical applications.
• C# & .NET: Deep hands-on expertise with C# and .NET Framework.
• Desktop & Web Technologies: Strong practical experience with WinForms and/or WebForms.
• Integration Technologies: Proven production experience consuming and integrating REST APIs, SOAP web services, and XML.
• Legacy Environments: Strong understanding of established and complex codebases, with the ability to navigate legacy systems, dependencies, and business logic.
• Modernisation Experience: Experience maintaining, enhancing, migrating, or modernising established enterprise applications.
• Problem Solving: Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ownership: Ability to work independently, take responsibility for complex technical tasks, and drive issues through to resolution.
• Agile Experience: Previous experience working within Agile and cross-functional software development teams.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Remote Collaboration: Comfortable working remotely as part of an international engineering team.

Nice to have

• Commercial experience with <VB.NET>, particularly in applications combining <VB.NET> and C#.
• Previous involvement in application modernisation or legacy transformation programmes.
• Experience working in complex, regulated, or large-scale enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of CA Gen / Cool.
• Experience with applications or components generated by, integrated with, or being migrated away from CA Gen.
• Broader exposure to legacy enterprise or mainframe environments.
