This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer based in India.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ServiceNow professional to design, develop, and optimize enterprise solutions across a fast-paced IT Applications <environment.You> will translate complex business requirements into scalable, well-architected ServiceNow solutions that improve efficiency and user experiences.The role combines hands-on development, integrations, workflow automation, platform maintenance, and continuous <improvement.You> will work across ITSM and other ServiceNow products while contributing to sustainable architecture and high-quality engineering practices.Collaboration with stakeholders, code reviews, testing, incident management, and platform health will be central to your <responsibilities.You> will also mentor colleagues and help introduce innovative, AI-enabled approaches to streamline workflows and business processes.This role offers strong opportunities to deepen your ServiceNow expertise while making a meaningful impact across enterprise technology operations.
Accountabilities
- Develop, test, document, and maintain custom ServiceNow applications, integrations, features, and data migrations.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions that make effective use of the ServiceNow platform.
- Design reusable workflow frameworks and identify opportunities to automate and improve manual processes.
- Participate in code reviews, applying appropriate design patterns and maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and test coverage.
- Execute test plans and support quality assurance throughout development, testing, deployment, and release activities.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to ensure effective delivery across the full development lifecycle.
- Provide detailed estimates, work breakdown structures, and technical input for assigned projects and development tasks.
- Manage incidents according to published SLAs, perform required maintenance, and address issues affecting platform stability and health.
- Support ServiceNow upgrades, version control, update sets, and remediation of skipped updates.
- Mentor and advise team members while contributing to a flexible, proactive, and collaborative engineering environment.
- Explore and apply AI technologies to improve decision-making, automate workflows, increase efficiency, and support better business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience, with typically 5+ years of IT Service Management or ServiceNow experience.
- At least 3 years of software development experience and 2 years of hands-on ServiceNow application development.
- Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator (CSA) certification is required.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification is required.
- At least 2 years of experience writing JavaScript, including building reusable, lightweight code and comprehensive automated tests.
- Hands-on experience implementing at least one ServiceNow module such as ITSM, CMDB, HR, or Employee Center Pro.
- Experience developing and integrating REST and SOAP APIs.
- Experience with ServiceNow version control, update sets, upgrades, and skipped-update remediation.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Scaled Agile.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Security-minded approach with a solid understanding of software vulnerabilities and secure development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance workflows, decision-making, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other technical team members is highly valuable.
- Bonus experience includes HAM/SAM, Now Assist, Virtual Agent, Employee Center Pro, HRSD, SecOps, GRC/IRM, or Environmental, Health & Safety Management.
- Additional certifications such as a ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist or ITIL V3/V4 Foundation are advantageous.
