This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AWS Solutions Architect based in Canada.

This is a senior cloud architecture role focused on designing, modernizing, and optimizing AWS solutions for a diverse range of <clients.You> will help organizations adopt cloud-native technologies that improve scalability, resilience, security, and operational efficiency.The role combines hands-on technical expertise with client advisory responsibilities and strategic <problem-solving.You>’ll work across serverless architectures, containers, DevOps, infrastructure as code, security, and application <modernization.You> will also leverage modern AI tools to accelerate innovation and rapidly develop and validate proof-of-concepts.Working in an agile, collaborative environment, you’ll guide clients and delivery teams throughout the full project lifecycle.This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong architect who enjoys consulting, innovation, and delivering measurable client outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Architect, design, and implement highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient AWS cloud solutions.
  • Develop serverless architectures using technologies such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and CloudFront.
  • Lead cloud migration and application modernization initiatives, helping transform legacy workloads into scalable cloud-native architectures.
  • Use modern AI tools and services to rapidly develop, test, and implement proof-of-concepts that address client challenges and unlock operational efficiencies.
  • Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automation scripts, and DevOps practices to improve development and deployment processes.
  • Develop containerized solutions and support orchestration using AWS EKS and ECS.
  • Embed cloud security and governance best practices across solution designs, including IAM, VPCs, security groups, and relevant compliance requirements.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting clients with requirements gathering, architecture decisions, solution recommendations, and technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with agile delivery teams to deliver solutions iteratively, adapt to changing requirements, and maintain strong focus on client outcomes.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience working in public cloud environments, with strong AWS expertise preferred.
  • Demonstrated client-facing consulting experience, including requirements gathering, solution advisory, stakeholder management, and agile delivery.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and CloudFront.
  • Proven experience with cloud migrations and application modernization.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, scripting, automation, and DevOps practices, with experience using languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Practical experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms such as EKS and ECS.
  • Solid understanding of AWS security, networking fundamentals, cloud governance, IAM, VPCs, and security groups.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification, or an equivalent certification, is preferred.
  • Background in application development or DevOps engineering is an asset.
  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments such as Azure or GCP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and microservices design patterns is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in environments that require accountability, adaptability, autonomy, and effective decision-making amid ambiguity.
