This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Controller based in United States.

This is a hands-on financial leadership role focused on protecting liquidity, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring smooth day-to-day finance <operations.You> will take ownership of cash management, payment processes, working capital, and financial risk across a fast-moving consumer business.The role offers significant autonomy and requires strong judgment, accuracy, and a proactive approach to financial <decision-making.You> will maintain clear visibility into cash positions and forecasts while ensuring suppliers, contractors, and company expenses are managed <efficiently.You> will also help strengthen banking relationships, account security, and internal controls as the business continues to scale.The ideal candidate is a practical finance operator who enjoys building structure, identifying risks early, and owning critical processes end to end.

Accountabilities

  • Monitor daily cash flow and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts to provide accurate visibility into liquidity and upcoming financial needs.
  • Own the full payment cycle, including supplier and contractor payments, company cards, and related approvals, ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, and properly controlled.
  • Develop and manage working capital strategies by optimizing payment terms, coordinating outflows with incoming cash, and minimizing idle funds.
  • Oversee card and account security, including spending controls, limits, monitoring, and proactive identification of unauthorized or unusual activity.
  • Maintain robust internal financial controls, appropriate segregation of duties, and reliable finance processes across the organization.
  • Support banking relationships and working-capital facilities, helping ensure appropriate access to liquidity and efficient financial operations.
  • Identify financial and operational risks early, recommend corrective actions, and proactively resolve potential issues before they impact the business.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of core finance operations while working independently in a lean, fast-paced environment.
  • Use financial data and reporting to support sound operational decisions and maintain a clear understanding of the company's financial position.
  • Contribute to the adoption of AI-assisted finance workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Financial Controller, Treasury, Senior Finance Operations, or comparable finance leadership role.
  • Experience in high-volume e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, consumer businesses, or another similarly fast-paced operating environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and confidence managing day-to-day accounting and finance processes.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills with the ability to analyze financial data, build forecasts, and identify trends or potential risks.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, liquidity forecasting, payment operations, working capital, and financial controls.
  • Genuine interest in and openness to using AI-assisted tools and workflows to improve finance operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when managing sensitive financial information and high-value transactions.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, accountability, and professional judgment.
  • Proactive, low-ego working style with the ability to take ownership and make decisions without extensive supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues before they become material business risks.
  • Ability to thrive in a lean, rapidly evolving environment where processes may need to be built or improved from the ground up.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when coordinating financial matters with internal and external stakeholders.
