This is a customer-facing technical role at the intersection of application security, developer workflows, and enterprise <sales.You>’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers understand complex security challenges and translate them into practical solutions.The role combines product demonstrations, proof-of-concept leadership, technical discovery, and customer education throughout the sales <cycle.You>’ll work closely with engineering and security teams to integrate security capabilities into modern software development <environments.You>’ll also bring customer feedback internally, influencing product direction and improving the overall adoption experience.The environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and focused on solving meaningful technical problems with customers.The role is remote across the US, with a preference for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area for hybrid collaboration.
Accountabilities
Own the technical sales cycle: Lead the technical aspects of customer engagements, including discovery, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and successful proof-of-concept implementations.
Advise customers on application security: Help organizations identify vulnerabilities, understand their security exposure, and establish effective approaches for detecting and preventing issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
Become a product and integration expert: Develop deep expertise in the platform and its integration into developer workflows, CI/CD environments, and application security programs.
Communicate technical value: Clearly explain how security solutions can improve speed, accuracy, flexibility, and developer productivity compared with alternative approaches.
Reduce adoption friction: Identify opportunities to simplify implementation and deployment through automation, improved processes, technical guidance, and customer-facing content.
Represent customer needs internally: Partner with Product, Engineering, and other teams to communicate customer requirements, identify recurring challenges, and help shape future product improvements.
Build strong customer relationships: Establish credibility with technical stakeholders and help customers solve challenging security and development problems throughout the buying journey.
Collaborate across the sales organization: Work closely with account executives and other customer-facing teams to develop effective technical strategies and progress opportunities.
Requirements
5–8 years of customer-facing experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, customer success, technical support, product support, or a similar technical role.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences in English.
Solid understanding of developer workflows and build systems, including modern CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps.
Exposure to application security, vulnerability management, static analysis, or related security programs and technologies.
Strong problem-solving ability and a genuine interest in helping customers navigate challenging technical problems.
Customer-oriented mindset: Ability to build trust, understand customer objectives, ask effective discovery questions, and translate technical challenges into practical solutions.
Collaborative and adaptable approach: Comfortable working across Sales, Product, Engineering, and other functions in a fast-paced technology environment.
Technical education or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, completion of a coding bootcamp, or equivalent practical experience.
Interest in developer and security ecosystems and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, products, and workflows.
Benefits
Base salary: $152,000–$190,000 USD, with the published range reflecting San Francisco Bay Area compensation.
Uncapped on-target earnings: Approximately $217,000–$272,000 USD, depending on performance and compensation structure.
Equity compensation in addition to base salary and variable compensation.
