Ally Psychiatry is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide weekend, holiday, and vacation coverage across our behavioral health programs in the Birmingham, Alabama market . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMHNP looking for flexible supplemental income while working with an established, physician-led psychiatric practice.
Providers will have the opportunity to work in inpatient psychiatric hospitals and behavioral health crisis centers , collaborating with psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, therapists, nurses, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

- 12-hour Day Shift
- 12-hour Night Shift

Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
- Diagnose and treat patients with acute psychiatric disorders
- Manage psychotropic medications
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in the EMR
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, social workers, and case managers
- Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care in fast-paced behavioral health settings

Requirements
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program
- Current PMHNP certification
- Active Alabama APRN license (or eligibility)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)- not required to start
- Experience in inpatient psychiatry, crisis services, emergency psychiatry, or acute behavioral health preferred
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
