Accountabilities
- Build and ship production-ready iOS and Android features using React Native and TypeScript, taking ownership from architecture through release.
- Own the complete mobile release lifecycle, including Expo and EAS workflows, app provisioning, testing, store submissions, and production releases.
- Translate Figma designs into polished, responsive mobile interfaces with smooth animations, intuitive interactions, and strong attention to detail.
- Develop clean and reliable API integrations while ensuring applications remain performant, scalable, and maintainable.
- Establish and maintain high engineering standards through unit testing, end-to-end testing, quality assurance, and disciplined release practices.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, reliability, maintainability, and real-world product requirements.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering stakeholders to turn ideas into production features and continuously improve the mobile experience.
- Take strong ownership of technical challenges, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and move initiatives forward without unnecessary dependencies.
- Contribute to a high-performance engineering culture by sharing knowledge, exploring new frameworks and solutions, and helping raise the technical bar.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Android development experience, ideally gained within a high-growth startup or similarly fast-paced technology environment.
- Strong hands-on experience building production-quality mobile applications with React Native and TypeScript.
- Demonstrated ability to develop smooth, high-performance mobile experiences, including sophisticated animations and responsive interactions.
- Experience taking applications through the complete development and release lifecycle, from IDE development and testing through App Store and Google Play deployment.
- Strong understanding of Expo and EAS or comparable mobile build, provisioning, and release workflows.
- Experience translating Figma designs into high-quality production interfaces with strong attention to visual and interaction details.
- Hands-on experience with API integration, unit testing, and end-to-end quality assurance.
- High level of ownership, initiative, and agency, with a demonstrated ability to independently identify problems and deliver solutions.
- Pragmatic approach to engineering, with the ability to make effective decisions based on business and technical realities rather than over-engineering.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new frameworks, technologies, and approaches to solving engineering challenges.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with frequent deployments, rapid iteration, and high expectations.
