This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a CFO Senior Accountant based in the United States.
This role provides accounting and financial support to a diverse portfolio of clients while helping modernize their accounting operations through cloud-based <technology.You> will manage core accounting activities, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll preparation, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.The position combines hands-on accounting expertise with client advisory responsibilities and opportunities to improve financial <processes.You> will analyze financial results, identify root causes behind variances, and implement sustainable solutions that strengthen accuracy and <controls.You> will also help clients transition to real-time cloud accounting platforms and use financial insights to support better business decisions.Success requires strong organization, critical thinking, communication, and a genuine interest in technology and continuous improvement.This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, evolving team where your work directly influences client financial performance and service quality.
Accountabilities
- Support clients in transitioning their accounting processes and systems to cloud-based platforms, enabling more efficient access to real-time financial information.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for complex client accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bill payment, and payroll preparation.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial records remain accurate and complete.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and support timely general ledger closing processes.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, charts of accounts, and organized accounting records.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including analysis of financial results and business performance.
- Maintain effective accounting systems and internal controls over financial transactions.
- Provide clients with practical financial guidance, recommendations, and solutions that support their business objectives.
- Prepare client sales tax returns, year-end 1099 filings, property tax declarations, and other required reporting.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with applicable local, state, and federal reporting requirements while supporting client goals.
- Diagnose root causes of accounting and reconciliation variances, improve workflows and controls, and implement sustainable process improvements.
- Serve as a trusted first-line representative when interacting with clients, vendors, business partners, and internal service teams.
- Contribute to an evolving team environment by helping improve policies, procedures, technology adoption, and overall client experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA qualification.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting controls.
- Advanced experience with QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting and financial software applications.
- Experience with additional general ledger systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while taking on increasingly complex responsibilities.
- Strong client service skills and confidence interacting with stakeholders at different levels of an organization.
- Critical-thinking ability, particularly when diagnosing accounting issues, identifying root causes, resolving reconciliation challenges, and implementing lasting solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Forward-thinking mindset and willingness to adopt new technologies, processes, and approaches.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and high-quality client service.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employment sponsorship.
