This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Digital Customer Engineer based in Canada.

The Digital Customer Engineer will provide technical consulting and solution guidance across a broad portfolio of cloud products and <services.You> will work closely with sales and partner teams to understand technical requirements, remove adoption barriers, and shape scalable cloud solutions.The role combines strong cloud engineering knowledge with technical sales expertise and business-oriented <communication.You> will translate complex requirements into future-state architectures, support technical evaluations, and help demonstrate the value of cloud technologies.The position is primarily partner- and sales-facing, with limited regular direct interaction with end <customers.You> will also have opportunities to prototype solutions, deliver technical briefings, and influence integration and implementation strategies.This is a hybrid role suited to a technically strong, consultative professional who enjoys innovation, problem-solving, and working at the intersection of technology and business.

Accountabilities

  • Support partners and sales teams in identifying technical requirements, current-state challenges, and barriers to cloud adoption.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable future-state architectures that demonstrate clear business value.
  • Support technical evaluations throughout solution sales stages, ensuring requirements and technical win criteria are addressed efficiently.
  • Serve as a key technical resource for partner and sales stakeholders, helping resolve technical questions, objections, and blockers.
  • Work hands-on with cloud products to develop demonstrations, prototypes, integrations, and proofs of concept within partner environments.
  • Navigate and interpret technical documentation and use administrative, development, and support consoles for cloud products.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, solution briefings, product messaging, and technical whiteboarding sessions.
  • Provide guidance on integration strategies, enterprise architecture, platforms, application infrastructure, and implementation best practices.
  • Recommend solutions that optimize cloud product effectiveness, scalability, and long-term business value.
  • Maintain accurate sales documentation and account intelligence in Salesforce, ensuring technical artifacts and solution-stage requirements are properly recorded.
  • Collaborate closely with partner and sales-facing teams while serving as a technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
  • Complete required training and professional certifications within established timelines.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and evolving customer and partner needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

At least 5 years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Professional Services Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role in a cloud environment.

Deep knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS environments.

Hands-on experience with database and data-processing technologies such as BigQuery, MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or comparable solutions.

Working knowledge of Linux and web technologies, including HTTP, XML/XSLT, cookies, and sessions.

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP, firewalls, proxy servers, and DMZ environments.

Experience with web application integration and technologies such as REST, SOAP, Python, Java, JavaScript, or PHP.

Ability to rapidly develop technical prototypes and proofs of concept to demonstrate potential solutions.

Strong understanding of cloud architecture, integration patterns, application infrastructure, and technical implementation considerations.

Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts persuasively to different audiences.

Strong consultative and sales-oriented mindset, with the ability to connect technical capabilities to business outcomes.

Ability to work autonomously, prioritize multiple technical opportunities, and collaborate effectively with partner and sales teams.

Experience creating demonstration scripts using C#, Python, Perl, Shell, or similar languages is an asset.

Active Google Cloud certifications, such as Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent credentials from other major cloud providers are highly desirable.

Strong interest in continuous learning and willingness to complete required cloud training and certifications.
