This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a LTD Claims Consultant based in United States.

This role supports the effective and accurate management of Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims while helping improve service delivery and operational <performance.You> will provide technical guidance to claims teams and serve as a subject matter expert on complex claims and adjudication matters.The position plays an important role in improving claim decision quality, management accuracy, and turnaround <times.You> will identify root causes, assess risks, and develop practical solutions that strengthen processes and efficiency.The role offers opportunities to contribute to cross-functional initiatives, automation, and continuous improvement <programs.You> will also coach and mentor colleagues while promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and high standards of customer service.This is a remote position with occasional travel to company offices as business needs require.

Accountabilities

  • Provide technical support to claims teams, including claim authorization reviews, complex issue resolution, and expert guidance on adjudication.
  • Drive improvements in initial claim decisions, claim management accuracy, and critical turnaround-time metrics.
  • Identify root causes of performance issues and develop solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, service quality, and innovation.
  • Leverage automation and alternative sourcing approaches to increase operational capacity and streamline claims activities.
  • Collaborate across lines of business to identify, share, and implement claims best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for workstream initiatives, supporting timely and effective execution of strategic priorities.
  • Mentor and coach claims professionals and peers, providing constructive feedback and supporting capability development.
  • Promote a culture of open communication, continuous improvement, accountability, and customer-focused service.
  • Identify, assess, and manage operational and claims-related risks while maintaining appropriate quality standards.
  • Support day-to-day execution against key performance metrics and contribute to sustained improvements in claims operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims handling experience, with prior Disability Income (DI) experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience providing feedback, coaching, or guidance to frontline staff and/or frontline supervisors.
  • Extensive knowledge of group LTD products, administration, claims procedures, and disability claims management.
  • Strong understanding of the financial, medical, occupational, and investigative dimensions of disability claims.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify risks and root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical claims matters clearly to different audiences.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, time-management, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to train individuals and teams, mentor colleagues, and contribute to professional development.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as databases, imaging systems, and other PC-based applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and business functions.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and superior customer service.
  • Demonstrated self-awareness, openness to feedback, and ability to foster constructive working relationships.

Benefits

Salary range: $58,620–$96,300 per year, with final compensation determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
