This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Product, Banking based in the United States.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on shaping and scaling a comprehensive banking and payments <portfolio.You> will own product strategy, roadmap, and execution across onboarding, transaction processing, treasury solutions, and card issuance.The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on product management, including defining requirements, writing specifications, and solving complex <problems.You> will work closely with engineering, design, compliance, risk, legal, data, and go-to-market teams to deliver secure and compliant products.A key part of the role is building and mentoring a high-performing, globally distributed product <organization.You> will also establish scalable product practices, improve execution rigor, and translate complex banking needs into measurable customer and business outcomes.This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-moving environment where ownership, innovation, collaboration, and results are highly valued.

Accountabilities

Own banking product strategy: Define and continuously evolve the product vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap across customer onboarding, transaction processing, treasury solutions, card issuance, and related banking capabilities.

Drive product execution: Prioritize initiatives, coordinate delivery across teams, and remain accountable for products from discovery and definition through launch, iteration, and measurable outcomes.

Lead complex initiatives: Turn ambiguous, cross-functional business and technical challenges into clear requirements, scope, product specifications, and actionable delivery plans.

Stay hands-on: Develop PRDs, product specifications, user stories, and other product documentation while engaging deeply with data, edge cases, ledgering, reconciliation, and regulatory considerations.

Build and scale the product organization: Establish effective discovery, prioritization, specification, launch, and review processes that enable the team to scale while maintaining high standards.

Develop product talent: Hire, coach, mentor, and retain product managers while establishing clear expectations, development plans, and growth opportunities.

Lead distributed teams: Guide product professionals across multiple regions and time zones, promoting effective asynchronous collaboration and inclusive leadership.

Partner cross-functionally: Collaborate with engineering, design, data, compliance, risk, legal, and go-to-market teams to deliver high-quality banking experiences.

Manage risk and compliance: Ensure banking and payment products incorporate appropriate regulatory requirements, risk monitoring, fraud controls, security measures, and financial controls.

Communicate with executives: Present strategy, progress, risks, investment needs, and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Drive business outcomes: Ensure product decisions are connected to measurable customer, operational, and commercial outcomes, including deposit growth, interest income, interchange revenue, and improved customer experiences.

Requirements

Product leadership experience: Approximately 12–18 years of relevant product management experience, including at least 5 years leading and managing product teams. Demonstrated impact is valued over a specific number of years.

Banking and payments expertise: Deep experience building and launching banking, payments, lending, or comparable financial products at scale.

Domain breadth: Hands-on experience across several core areas, including customer onboarding and experience, transaction processing, ACH, RTP/FedNow, checks, cross-border payments, multi-currency transactions, treasury solutions, and card issuance.

Risk and compliance: Proven experience delivering compliant payment products with appropriate fraud prevention, risk monitoring, and financial-crime controls.

Treasury and card expertise: Familiarity with treasury products designed to drive deposit growth and interest income, as well as card programs that generate interchange revenue.

Financial infrastructure knowledge: Working understanding of ledgering, reconciliation, balance integrity, and the financial controls required to support trustworthy banking products.

Strategic product management: Demonstrated ability to establish product strategy and translate it into an executable roadmap with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.

Complex problem solving: Strong ability to independently scope and lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from ambiguity through delivery.

Hands-on product craftsmanship: Comfortable personally writing PRDs, product specifications, user stories, and requirements rather than operating solely at an oversight level.

Organizational leadership: Experience hiring, coaching, and developing product managers while establishing durable processes, standards, and operating practices.

Global leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor distributed teams across multiple regions and time zones.

Technical collaboration: Strong understanding of technical trade-offs and experience partnering closely with engineering and design teams.

Regulatory and stakeholder management: Comfortable navigating compliance, risk, legal, and regulatory constraints while communicating effectively with executive-level stakeholders.

Preferred experience: Exposure to domestic and cross-border payment rails, treasury or card issuance programs, banking platforms or APIs, fraud and financial-crime tooling, market expansion, or products involving payments, ledgering, and reconciliation.

Education: A technical background or degree in a quantitative field is advantageous.
