Internship Program Details

  • Internship Duration: September 2026 – December 2026
  • Weekly Commitment: 15 hours per week
  • Timeline: Interviews will begin in mid-August
  • Cohort of 4-5 interns for the duration of the semester
  • Opportunity to work across various events including: Cross Country, Strength

and Fitness Events, Inland Northwest Hall of Fame, Wrestling, Indoor Track and

Field

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interns will support the delivery of Spokane Sports events. Working within the Event
  • Management department, interns will play a vital role in ensuring events run smoothly,
  • partners are well-supported, and participants enjoy a world-class experience. Each
  • intern will contribute to the overall success of events aligned with Spokane Sports’
  • mission and standards of excellence.

Event Operations Intern (4-5 Positions)

  • Event Preparation & Teardown: Participate in preparations for events and assist

with post-event teardown.

  • Venue Operations: Handle equipment setup, staging, assembly, and organization

of work areas and tables.

  • Volunteer/Officials Coordination Management: Manage and coordinate

volunteers and officials on-site to ensure smooth operations.

  • Transportation Management: Coordinate transportation logistics for athletes,
  • staff, and spectators by managing vehicle traffic plans, schedules, and
  • arrival/departure logistics.
  • Coordinate and support all hospitality and special event logistics by managing
  • vendor and catering deliveries, organizing hospitality locations and supplies,
  • overseeing awards operations, and assisting with planning and execution of
  • ancillary events, socials, and meetings.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements

  • Extensive time spent onsite at events.
  • Frequent evening and weekend shifts required during event season.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and actively participate in event setup

and teardown.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during event days.
  • Reliable transportation to and from event sites.
  • Weekly commitment of 15 hours per week.
  • Work conditions will vary throughout the season through all weather conditions.
